Arrival in Kota Kinabalu

The tour starts with a pick-up from your hotel, then we head to the Aeropod Travel office where you will get your scooters. A brief introduction will be given by your guide before you set off to explore the city on two wheels. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a fun and relaxed ride through local streets, with several stops at popular food hawkers (meals are at your own cost). You will also visit some of the city’s famous location. Enjoy an outskirt experience as you make your way towards Tuaran. This tour will take approximately 5–6 hours.

Culinary tour

Our guide will meet you at your hotel and accompany you to the local market. Together, you will select the local ingredients needed for today’s menu. Learn more about the variety of local produce and how they are used in traditional cooking, as your guide shares stories, tips, and insights along the way. Continue to the local chief’s house, where your cooking class officially begins. Enjoy a hands-on cooking experience and learn how to prepare Sabahan dishes with guidance from your host. Savour scrumptious lunch before making your way back to your hotel.

Kota Kinabalu – Kiulu

Begin your adventure with a scenic one in a half hour drive to Kiulu, leaving the comfort of your hotel behind as you journey toward the lush jungle landscapes of the Kiulu Valley. Upon arrival at the Adventure Centre, your guide will provide a comprehensive safety briefing before the trekking starts. The trails will bring you passing through charming local villages and across swaying suspension bridges. Along the way, your guide will introduce you to the fascinating ethnobotany of the Kiulu Valley, sharing insights into how local communities use forest plants for food, medicine, and daily life. Your trail leads to the peaceful Kalani campsite. Unlock your survival mode as you learn how to light a fire, tie a hammock, craft basic jungle tools, and build your very own jungle shelter. Your guide will be there every step of the way, offering guidance and tips to help you master these essential wilderness skills. Cool off with a refreshing jungle shower in the nearby river, a perfect way to unwind in the warm tropical climate. As evening falls, gather around the crackling campfire to share stories and enjoy the tranquil sounds of the forest. When the night grows quiet and your eyelids begin to feel heavy, climb into your hammock and gently sway beneath the jungle canopy, drifting off to sleep surrounded by nature.

Kiulu – Kudat

After breakfast, depart for an approximately 3-hour overland journey to Kudat, fondly known as the “North of Borneo.” Observe local people going about their daily lives along the way and in good weather, you will be treated to panoramic views of paddy fields with Mount Kinabalu in the background. In Kudat, we will make a stop at Sumangkap Gong-Making Village, where you will have the opportunity to witness the traditional method of gong making by skilled local craftsmen. ” Take in the stunning views of the South China Sea and the Sulu Sea, and enjoy some relaxing time on the beach. After that, we’ll head over to Bavanggazo Longhouse for your overnight stay. Enjoy a local dinner and spend some time mingling with the Rungus people. Get to know more about their history and culture through your guide.

Kudat – Poring Hot Spring – Kundasang

After breakfast, you will take a short walk around the village with your guide. Have a first-hand encounter with the Rungus community to understand more about the daily life. Return to the Longhouse and subsequently, we depart to Poring Hot Spring. Trek up to the Canopy Walk, built at 41 metres about the ground and 157 metres length before we drive to Kundasang where you will be staying for the night.

Kundasang – Kinabalu Park – Kota Kinabalu

Rise and shine! Depart to Kinabalu Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and enjoy a guided nature walk through the Botanical Garden. The park is home to more than 4,500 species of flora and fauna, including many endemics to Borneo. Weather permitting, explore one of the park’s trails and experience the cool, refreshing montane forest. Return to Kota Kinabalu in the afternoon.
