Arrival in Sandakan

Sandakan – Selingan Island

Pickup from your hotel. Head to the jetty for a 40 minutes speedboat to Selingan Island. Registration to the park headquarters upon arrival and check-in. Lunch at 12:00, after that, you are free to for the afternoon to swim, snorkel or wander around the island. After dinner, we will wait for call from the park ranger for turtle watching at the beach. You will see the collection process as well as the planting of eggs in the hatchery. Overnight in Twin-Share room.

Selingan Island – Kinabatangan River

After an early breakfast, board the boat for the transfer back to Sandakan. Head to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. There, you'll be treated to an enlightening video show about the conservation efforts done at the centre. Take a ten-minute walk in the midst of the rainforest and witness the feeding of orangutans at the feeding platform before observing them over at the outdoor nursery. Thereafter, head to the Sun Bear Conservation Centre next door to learn more about the smallest bears in the world. After lunch, depart for an estimated 2 hours boat journey to one of the lodges in Kinabatangan River. Enjoy an evening river cruise in search of Borneo's wildlife and birds.

Kinabatangan River

Wake up as early as 0600hrs for the morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. Return to the lodge for breakfast. In the afternoon, proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife.

Kinabatangan River – Lahad Datu – Danum Valley

Depart early from Sukau to Lahad Datu. After a brief orientation and safety overview, enjoy a scenic overland transfer to the coastal gateway of W Bay Payang. Upon arrival, savor fresh breakfast by the water as our marine experts prepare your professional snorkeling gear and share insights into the unique aquatic ecosystem you are about to explore. Next, board our vessel for an excursion to the spectacular Blue Ring Reef, Malaysia’s only known double marine blue hole, and the vibrant Laila Reef. Immerse yourself in these underwater wonders, snorkeling among dazzling coral gardens teeming with exotic marine life. Enjoy a tranquil surface interval onboard or soaking in the panoramic beauty of Darvel Bay at the serene Kalung-Kalungan stop. After returning to the coast for a freshwater rinse and relaxed seaside lunch, take a moment to unwind before your journey inland. In the afternoon, travel into the heart of the Danum Valley Conservation Area. This transition from coast to ancient dipterocarp forest offers a fascinating look at Borneo’s diverse landscape. Upon arrival at Borneo Rainforest Lodge, settle into your luxury retreat with a signature welcome drink. Berin with a 5-star facilities introduction by our Front Office team followed by your nature guide briefing on the evening’s adventure. As dusk falls, step into the shadow of the 130-million-year-old jungle for a guided night walk, offering your first encounter with the mysterious nocturnal wildlife of the valley.

Danum Valley

Awaken to the call of Bornean Gibbon and begin your morning with a guided trek to coffin Cliff, an ancient Dusun Subpan burial site. For those who are fit and eager for linger trek, continue onward to Fairy Falls. Afterward, cool off with a refreshing dip in the Natural Jacuzzi Pool before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, experience the Canopy Walkway, a 314-meter-long suspended bridge rising 27 meters above the forest floor. Alternatively, for an added adventure, you may choose to enjoy river rafting of jungle cycling (available on additional fee). As night returns, venture out once more on a night walk or night drive.

Danum Valley – Lahad Datu – Kota Kinabalu

Today, we will depart Danum Valley for the land transfer to Lahad Datu Airport to catch your flight to Kota Kinabalu. Arrive Kota Kinabalu, you will be greeted by our driver who will drive you to your hotel.
