Kuala Lumpur Heritage Discovery

Kuala Lumpur is often called a cultural melting pot because of its harmonious blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and other indigenous cultures, which create rich historical and cultural values in the city. To experience this diversity, we will explore several landmarks that represent each heritage. One of them is Masjid Jamek, one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur. A short walk leads to Merdeka Square, where Malaysia declared independence in 1957. Sin Sze Si Ya Temple is the oldest Taoist temple in Kuala Lumpur, built in 1864, representing the early Chinese community in the city. The influence of Chinese culture can also be experienced in Chinatown along Petaling Street, a lively area known for its street markets, restaurants, and traditional shops. The Indian community’s heritage can be seen at Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, the oldest Hindu temple in the city. Indian culture is also reflected in Little India Brickfields, an area filled with traditional clothing shops, spice stores, and Indian restaurants. Another famous Hindu site is Batu Caves, where visitors can climb 272 colorful steps to reach the temple inside a limestone cave and see the giant golden statue of Lord Murugan. Together, these landmarks highlight the multicultural identity and rich heritage of Kuala Lumpur. Finally, we will end the tour with lunch at a local restaurant before driving you back to your hotel. For small group, this tour will be done by foot and train. Visit to Petronas Twin Tower can be arranged for additional fee.

Kuala Lumpur - Sandakan

Transfer out to Kuala Lumpur Airport to catch your flight to Sandakan. Upon arrival at Sandakan, we will meet and transfer you to your hotel.

Sepilok Orang Utan Centre - Borneo Sunbear Centre - Sandakan City Tour

Pickup from your hotel and head to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. There, you will be treated to an enlightening video presentation about the conservation efforts carried out at the centre. Enjoy a ten-minute walk through the rainforest and witness the feeding of the orangutans at the feeding platform before observing them at the outdoor nursery. After that, visit the Sun Bear Conservation Centre next door to learn more about the smallest bears in the world. Your trip continues to Sandakan Town for a short exploration. The town offers fascinating stories of culture, history, and local lifestyle. This tour includes visits to the town markets, Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple, St. Michael’s Church, Agnes Keith House, the Sim Sim Water Village, and the Australian War Memorial. Return to your hotel in the late evening.

Sandakan – Kinabatangan River

Free and easy before we pick you up for lunch. Depart for an estimated 2 hours land or boat journey to one of the lodges in Kinabatangan River. Enjoy an evening river cruise in search of Borneo's wildlife and birds.

Kinabatangan River

Wake up as early as 0600hrs for the morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. Return to the lodge for breakfast. In the afternoon, proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife.

Departure

Return to Sandakan by land or boat. After lunch, we will drop you off at Sandakan Airport to catch your flight to your next destination.
