Kuala Lumpur Heritage Discovery

Kuala Lumpur is often called a cultural melting pot because of its harmonious blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and other indigenous cultures, which create rich historical and cultural values in the city. To experience this diversity, we will explore several landmarks that represent each heritage. One of them is Masjid Jamek, one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur. A short walk leads to Merdeka Square, where Malaysia declared independence in 1957. Sin Sze Si Ya Temple is the oldest Taoist temple in Kuala Lumpur, built in 1864, representing the early Chinese community in the city. The influence of Chinese culture can also be experienced in Chinatown along Petaling Street, a lively area known for its street markets, restaurants, and traditional shops. The Indian community’s heritage can be seen at Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, the oldest Hindu temple in the city. Indian culture is also reflected in Little India Brickfields, an area filled with traditional clothing shops, spice stores, and Indian restaurants. Another famous Hindu site is Batu Caves, where visitors can climb 272 colorful steps to reach the temple inside a limestone cave and see the giant golden statue of Lord Murugan. Together, these landmarks highlight the multicultural identity and rich heritage of Kuala Lumpur. Finally, we will end the tour with lunch at a local restaurant before driving you back to your hotel. For small group, this tour will be done by foot and train. Visit to Petronas Twin Tower can be arranged for additional fee.

Kuala Lumpur - Sandakan

Transfer out to Kuala Lumpur Airport to catch your flight to Sandakan. Upon arrival at Sandakan, we will meet and transfer you to your hotel.

Sandakan – Kinabatangan River

Pickup from your hotel. Head to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. There, you'll be treated to an enlightening video show about the conservation efforts done at the centre. Take a ten-minute walk to the feeding platform to witness the feeding of the orangutan. You will have the opportunity to watch them again at the outdoor nursery. After that, head to the Sun Bear Conservation Centre next door to learn more about the smallest bears in the world. Depart for an estimated 2 hours land or boat journey to one of the lodges in Kinabatangan River. Enjoy an evening river cruise in search of Borneo's wildlife and birds.

Kinabatangan River

Wake up as early as 0600hrs for the morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. Return to the lodge for breakfast. In the afternoon, proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife.

Kinabatangan River - Lahad Datu - Tabin Wildlife Resort

Today, we will depart early from Kinabatangan to Lahad Datu and, subsequently to Tabin Wildlife Resort. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed with a short briefing by your guide, followed by an engaging video presentation introducing the natural wonders of Tabin. Afterward, check in to your charming timber lodge at Tabin Wildlife Resort. Each lodge features a private balcony, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and a hot water shower, ensuring a comfortable stay surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, begin your adventure with a trek along the Elephant Trail toward the active Lipad Mud Volcano, a natural mineral salt lick that attracts a variety of wildlife. When you reach the elevated, open area of the mud volcano, keep an eye out for animals and birds that often visit this spot. For the more adventurous, you may even try the volcanic mud yourself—believed by locals to help create a smooth and healthy complexion! After exploring, trek back to the main road while enjoying the sights and sounds of the rainforest. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at the resort. Later, head out on an exciting night safari to search for nocturnal wildlife and birds, offering a completely different perspective of the rainforest after dark.

Tabin Wildlife Resort

Join the early morning bird walk to discover some of Tabin’s rich collection of almost 300 bird species. After breakfast, a drive to the core area stop over and climb up the Birdwatching Tower. Continue trekking through the lush green rainforest visit Lipad Waterfall. Take a dip in the natural pool and enjoy a natural and refreshing swim. Alternatively explore the surrounding vegetation or just relax. In the evening, a dusk drive to look out for more nocturnal wildlife & birds coming out to look for food during this time of the day. After dinner, go for a night walk along the trail nearby the resort in search of sleeping birds, frog and nocturnal wildlife.

Tabin Wildlife Resort – Lahad Datu – Kota Kinabalu

Today, we will depart Tabin for the land transfer to Lahad Datu Airport to catch the flight to Kota Kinabalu. Arrive Kota Kinabalu, you will be greeted by our driver who will then transfer you to your beach resort accommodation.
